Partner, National Injury Attorneys
Caitlin Engstrand is a seasoned attorney with over 12 years of experience advocating for individuals impacted by serious harm. As a partner at National Injury Attorneys, she is committed to securing justice for victims of violence, exploitation, excessive force, and institutional failures.
Caitlin began her legal career as a public defender and later served as a supervising attorney, managing hundreds of complex cases involving sexual assault, homicide, firearms offenses, DUI, and police excessive force. Her work with survivors of sex trafficking and trauma-affected youth deeply shaped her trauma-informed approach to legal advocacy.
She holds a B.S. from Northern Arizona University and a J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. Caitlin is admitted to practice in Arizona and has dedicated much of her career to serving underserved communities and justice-involved youth.
Driven by a passion for restorative justice, Caitlin founded Project Restore—an award-winning initiative developed in partnership with the Maricopa County courts. The program helps young adults with criminal records, many of whom are survivors of trafficking or childhood trauma, access critical support and expunge their juvenile records.
Caitlin’s work has earned her several honors, including the Rising Star Award and the Defender of Justice Award from Maricopa County.
Beyond her legal practice, Caitlin mentors young adults transitioning out of foster care and helps them navigate the process of restoring their civil rights. She is also an active volunteer with Girl Scouts USA.
Caitlin is a proud wife and mother who enjoys fashion, travel, and exploring new cultures.
